THE EMMA ANIMAL RESCUE SOCIETY -TEARS

TEARS is a Pro-life, non-profit organisation whose core aim is to rescue, rehabilitate, re-unite and re-home lost, abandoned, abused and neglected dogs and cats.

We strive to meet the needs of the underprivileged communities by:
Providing primary health care such as vaccinations, deworming and parasite control.
Offering free sterilisations for their companion animals.
Providing a scheduled daily Mobile Clinic, offering basic health care (vaccinating, deworming, parasite control) and food to the animals six days a week.
Establishing an essential working relationship with the residents to protect the rights of the animals. Empowering and supporting them through effective education, guidance and follow up.
Providing a registered clinic on our premises, offering veterinary care for pets for any condition, illness or injury.
Daily we care for +-300 animals at our shelter, providing them with food, shelter, veterinary care, exercise and positive interaction with people until they can be placed in loving homes. To help sustain our operation we have three charity shops, in Bergvliet, Fish Hoek and Sunnydale and a bookshop in Bergvliet.

In 2007 we bought a beautiful 3,1 hectare property on Kommetjie Road, Sunnydale, known as Wenga Farm. We intend building a world-class, eco-friendly, “green” animal shelter, and will begin planning our exciting project in the near future.

Please support us and join the MySchool/MyPlanet ProgrammeMySchool (which includes MySchool, MyVillage and MyPlanet) is South Africa's number one community support system, raising almost 2 million a month for schools and charities. More and more top retailers are choosing the programme as a way of providing traceable, transparent and sustainable financial support for communities. The vision of the MySchool Programme is to connect all South Africans to a digital network for the benefit of communities, the environment, our partners and the country as a whole.

The MyVillage MyPlanet programme was launched as an extension of the MySchool programme, to provide community minded individuals the opportunity to support a worthy cause without having a prior relationship with a school.

The difference between the two new programmes are as follows:
MyVillage programme focuses on organisations that provide upliftment to communities and individuals in various ways other than the educational school environment.

MyPlanet programme focuses on organisations that provide improvement and protection of the environment and animals.

Whenever you visit selected stores and use your MySchool Card or My Planet, a percentage of your purchase will go to TEARS. It's an easy and effective way to support us and help the animals, whilst you shop! We receives almost R2000 per month from the MySchool/MyPlanet programme and we are endeavouring to increase this amount substantially.

If you already have a MySchool card, but would like to change your beneficiary to TEARS or add TEARS as a secondary beneficiary, simply call the Client Service Centre (0860 100 445) - there is no need to get a new card!
